About

Born in Southampton way back in the seventies, Tim has always wanted to draw and paint, but somehow life got the better of him and he only really found the courage and confidence to commit to art in his late forties. There’s a story in there somewhere that might work its way out, but for the time being he’s happy painting buildings and objects, people and animals.

Tim paints in a meticulous, realist style and often finds himself getting lost in the intricacies of a painting, so that when he looks up, it’s way past his bedtime. His paintings are often of people, places or situations he doesn’t want to forget, and while they may appear somewhat photographic, there is something of his personality in each one.

Tim favours the medium of oil paint for its rich depth of colour, blending abilities and the way it allows overpainting when things occasionally go a bit awry. While he has already come a long way, he knows there is still much to learn about the art of painting and the art of expression, and he hopes to show you much of his passion for painting and the journey of self-discovery it takes him on.

He’s always looking for things to paint, so if you’d like to commission him, or you’re interested in purchasing a painting he has already completed, please get in touch.
