An original oil painting of St Edmund Hall Library, formerly the 12th-century church of St Peter-in-the-East. It was converted into a library in the 1970s to house the 40,000 books that cover subjects offered by the hall. This ancient, majestic church and its graveyard form the background of the painting while the foreground is dominated by a bronze statue of a cloaked St Edmund seated reading a large book.
Provided unframed. Can be hung unframed or inserted into a frame that is able to accommodate a canvas 2cm in depth.
